Here’s a brief overview of what Catch42 stands for and hopes to achieve.

Mission statement

  • To inspire people to be the best that they can be
  • Raise awareness of what it’s like to live with a mental illness

I’m working to overcome my mental illness, and share my experiences with others.

Here’s me, making a bit of a splash:
Nice winter day

“He stood up straight and looked the world squarely in the fields and hills. To add weight to his words he stuck the rabbit bone in his beard. He spread his arms out wide. ‘I will go mad!’ he announced.”
– Arthur Dent (after being stuck on pre-historic Earth for several years) in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

‘Normality’, and the world we live in:

  • Every day 30,000 children die of starvation and preventable diseases (that’s one child every 3 seconds)
  • We killed 175 million of our own species in wars and conflicts in the 20th century
  • There are many conflicting religions all claiming to be the one and only true religion

In 2005, unable to make much sense of the world we live in, I decided I would go mad (like Arthur Dent) – as a bit of a joke. Little did I know that the joke was soon going to be on me…

Two weeks later I found myself hospitalized with a mental illness that drove me to believe I was God’s Servant on a ‘mission’ to help open people’s eyes (Isaiah 42 pretty much). Fortunately I was treated well and soon diagnosed with Bipolar (a.k.a. manic-depressive illness), Psychotic Delusions, and Anxiety (some time later). Over time my medication gradually gave me back my logical/rational mind.

Anyway, the whole experience jump-started my spiritual journey in life, and I thought it would be a good idea to share my experiences along the way.

“To love, to teach, and to make people laugh.”
